The collection consists of writings, sermons, sermon notes, family photographs, photographic negatives and glass lantern slides of Europe and the Holy Lands, a scrapbook of clippings, photographs, and programs pertaining to Williams, a book of accounts Williams kept while a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, and correspondence. The correspondence pertains to Williams' activities while at Oxford, his rectorship at St. Stephens Church (Milledgeville, Ga.), and his teaching career at the University of the South (Sewanee, Tenn.). Correspondents include University of Georgia Chancellor D.C. Barrow, the Bishop of Atlanta Cleland Kinloch Nelson, and Williams' father, Howard J. Williams. The collection also contains correspondence to Eleanor (Nellie) Barrow Williams from friends and family, letters of condolence upon her father's death, and memorials to Henry Lee Jewett Williams.

The collection consists of papers of the Tate family of Gordon and Pickens counties, Georgia from ca. 1849-1975. The papers consist primarily of correspondence, both business and personal. The business correspondence relates to the Tates' involvement in the Georgia Marble Company (Tate, Georgia) and the Kennesaw Marble Company (Marietta, Ga.). The personal correspondence is mainly between Edna Ferguson Tate and her children Sarah and William Tate. Sarah's letters are from Agnes Scott College (Decatur, Ga.) where she was a student and from Orlando (Fla.) where she took a teaching job. William's letters are first as a student and later as an instructor and Dean of Men at the University of Georgia and contain a substantial amount of material relating to activities at the University and events in Athens, Georgia. Other correspondents include Philip May Tate, Stephen C. Tate, Florence M. Tate, and Samuel Tate. The collection also contains photographs of the Tate family and the Georgia Marble Company; account books ca. 1882-1904 pertaining to Sam'l & S.L. Tate & Co. (a general store) and the Georgia Marble Company; and materials relating to the history of Pickens County (Ga.).

The collection consists of materials covering the life and career of Coleman Barks, with materials ranging from 1959-2017. Includes correspondence with other authors, such as John Moyne, Robert Bly, Annie Dillard, Mary Oliver, Reshad Feild, and James Dickey. Other notable correspondence includes filmmaker Dorothy Fadiman, actress Debra Winger, and former White House Press Secretary Bill Moyers. Collection includes extensive files from Barks' career, including early drafts and notes of his first published book of poetry, The Juice, extensive notes on his many Rumi books, and several other published and unpublished works. Notable items include Barks' first published poem The Recuperating in Box 30, and Barks' first Rumi translations in Box 19. Other notable items from the collection include the robes, emblem, and honorary doctorate degree Barks' received from the University of Tehran in 2006, several dream journals he kept from 1972-2008, extensive notes from his travels and appearances across the world, and props from the set of the film Big Bad Love, in which he played a small role as a minister.

The collection consists of papers of Phinizy Spalding from 1910-1994. Earlier materials pertain to Athens businessman Asaph King Childs, including account books, cash books, bills and receipts, correspondence, and timebooks documenting Childs' involvement with or management of the Cliff House (Tallulah Falls, Ga.), Childs & Moss (Athens, Ga.), and Childs, Nickerson & Company (Athens, Ga.). The collection also contains Civil War correspondence between Shatt C. Mitchell of the 13th Georgia Infantry Regiment and his wife Chloe including letters describing the battle of Antietam (Md.). Additional materials include scrapbooks containing clippings relating to Corra Harris.
